International expansion leads to natural partnership with Canada’s leading bass tour
MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (January 12,2018) – Bass Cat Boats, the premier manufacturer of high performance, tournament-ready fiberglass bass boats, has entered a multi-year partnership with Canada’s Renegade Bass Tour starting in the 2018 season. This will allow the company to expand their international footprint among Canada’s most serious bass anglers, much as it has done around the globe in recent years, in countries including Japan and Australia.
“Bass Cat is thrilled to work with Renegade Bass in the Canadian market,” said Kevin Short, International Sales Director and a much decorated veteran of the US pro circuits. “After fishing their events, I can say that RBT has developed the best tournament platform in Canada. From the Tour events to the 150 HP Opens to major international events like the Thousand Islands Open, no one has a better product and more exposure in this market than Renegade Bass Tour.”
Bass Cat President, Rick Pierce added, “We are extremely pleased to join RBT as a partner. Over the last several years we have watched their activity from the states through broadcasting on WFN and their following is growing. We look forward to a long relationship and with the efforts of Kevin and those in Canada, like JP DeRose, we will continue to grow our International presence.”
That exposure comes via not only the country’s most serious bass anglers, but also through multiple media channels. Over the past three years, Renegade has bolstered not only their tournament offerings, but also their angler education programs. Each year since 2015, they’ve increased their television programming, first on the World Fishing Network, and now adding on Waypoint TV as well. RBT tournament weigh-ins are livestreamed on Facebook as well as on the organization’s website.
“Watching what Bass Cat is doing to build the brand here in Canada and abroad is exciting and we are very pleased to be able to be a part of that continued growth and evolution.” said Mike Vandenberg, President. “It is 100 percent in-line with our effort to continually build the Renegade Bass Tour brand. They make a premium product that is available in multiple size classes, making it a cost-effective option for anglers who want to compete at any level. Our partnership is a win-win-win for tournament anglers, Bass Cat Boats, and Renegade Bass Tour.”
The winner at Renegade’s Classic will receive a Bass Cat Cougar FTD prize package valued at over $62,000 USD. The winner of their Thousand Islands Open will receive a top prize of $15,000, but on site there will be a Bass Cat Pantera Classic package valued at over $42,000 USD with 50 keys in the boat cooler. Each of the 50 teams that qualify for the final day of competition will select one key, in the order that they finish, and whichever team’s key starts the boat will home a brand new Bass Cat Pantera Classic package. Last year the key was turned 20 times before Renegade Bass Tour pro David Roy took home the big prize.
All Renegade Bass events will be Bass Cat Quest eligible.
