ARKANSAS PRO GREG BOHANNAN JOINS BASS CAT TEAM Article

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (October 29, 2020) – Bass Cat Boats, a leading manufacturer of tournament-ready, high-performance bass boats, has added veteran Tackle Warehouse Pro Series competitor Greg Bohannan to the company’s national pro team, bolstering an already stout staff with one of the sport’s most consistent and well-rounded anglers.

Bohannan has competed at FLW’s top level for 13 years and has qualified for the prestigious Forrest Wood Cup seven times, including four of the past five seasons, as well as 10 Toyota Series Championsips. He’s earned nearly $900,000 in FLW competition. His Arkansas roots run deep, too. He was raised on a farm near Beaver Lake, earned his bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech, and worked for Tyson Foods before becoming a full-time pro.

“I feel like I’m 18 again,” he said of the partnership with Bass Cat. “I’ve always had a ton of respect for the Bass Cat brand, and it’s like a big family. I’m proud to join an Arkansas-based company that is also a faith-based company.”

“Greg is the type of angler who we know will represent us exceptionally well on and off the water,” said Bass Cat President Rick Pierce. “He’s a man of faith, and he and his wife Holly have acted as honorary chairmen for the EOA Children’s House in northwest Arkansas, which serves as a long-term treatment center for abused and neglected children.”

Bohannan will run a Cougar FTD on tour in 2021. “I’m tired of getting passed!” he said. Before picking up his own boat, he fished several Toyota Series events out of another Cougar and was incredibly impressed. “I love the storage. I’m bad about carrying too much tackle and I couldn’t fill this one up. Also, the maneuverability is incredible, as I found out by fishing it around docks at Lake of the Ozarks.”

In what has been a busy “offseason” for the brand, Pro Staff Director Kevin Short continues to be amazed at how much talent – including home-grown talent – has become available. “Greg didn’t qualify for all of those Forrest Wood Cups by accident,” Short said. “Anyone who follows the sport or who has spent time in the boat with him will not be surprised in the slightest when he wins a major title. He’s that good, and that consistent.”
