SQUAW, CA (February 27, 2020) –Orlando Watersports Complex (OWC) was honored with Wake Park of the Year last night at the WSIA (Water Sports Industry Association) Leadership and Innovative Products Awards ceremony.

This prestigious award recognizes a water sports school or camp that shows excellence in lessons amongst the outstanding amenities and support for clinics, events and competitions. A voting ballot was conducted through its 2019 WSIA members that honored the selected winner of Wake Park of the Year.

OWC took home this top honor for their commitment to getting nearly 30,000 people on the water and offering over 5,000 lessons last year for beginners to professionals.

Centering its focus on people, OWC hosted 14 new beginner clinics for people in their community by working with local youth groups, Above the Wake (a charitable organization focused on autism) and Knights Wake (UCF college wakeboard team) to promote and foster the next generation of riders through the #PassTheHandle initiative.

OWC also hosted numerous events along with its 20th anniversary celebration such as the Water Lantern Festival and Movie on the Water. OWC also held many competitions this past year (King of the Cable, WWA Points Chase, USA Wakeboard Boat and Cable College Nationals, Spring Classic and Hyperlite Cable Games).

Their world-class cables, boat lake, Aquapark and Dockside Grill are what equips this highly reputable facility, with state-of-the-art boats from Nautique and equipment from Hyperlite.

Kellan Rudnicki Director of Operations at Aktion Parks stated, “To win this award was truly due to our entire team. A record-breaking year with guests at the park in its 20th anniversary is really a testament to our people and partners. Thank you to Nautique and Hyperlite for incredible support. We couldn’t have done it without them. The OWC community comradery has touched many lives and I am honored to be a part of it.”

Bill Yeargin, President and CEO of Correct Craft (owner of Aktion Parks and OWC), “What an honor it was for OWC to be recognized as Wake Park of the Year.
