GAINESVILLE, GA (April 7, 2022) – Pleasurecraft Engine Group (Pleasurecraft), with the support of Watersports Central, has announced its partnership with Lanier Technical College’s Marine Engine Technology Program. The goal of this partnership is to enhance technical training in the classroom and prepare the next generation of marine service technicians as they enter the marine industry.
Pleasurecraft donated a fully marinized test engine and diagnostic equipment to the school. A team of Pleasurecraft employees delivered the engine to the school and spent the day teaching the students about Pleasurecraft marine engines and walked them through multiple scenarios of diagnostics and repair.
Watersports Central, one of Pleasurecraft’s leading dealers with numerous locations throughout Georgia and South Carolina, was instrumental in facilitating this partnership. The goal is that Lanier Technical students will be trained in servicing Pleasurecraft marine engines and be exposed to future career opportunities with Pleasurecraft and Watersports Central.
Mark McKinney, President of Pleasurecraft stated, “There is an extreme shortage of technicians in the service side of the marine industry, and we are excited to show students the career opportunities our industry has to offer. We are thrilled to partner with Lanier Technical College and we look forward to employing future graduates.”
