LITTLE MOUNTAIN, SC (November 5, 2021) – A team from Pleasurecraft Engine Group team spent the day cleaning Lake Murray in South Carolina utilizing the Correct Craft “Lake Cleanup Boat”.
The Lake Cleanup Boat was built by SeaArk, one of Correct Craft’s boat manufacturers and is equipped with a vacuum that collects trash from the water surface. It has been used by numerous Correct Craft companies over the past several months to clean up lakes all across the Southeast.
In additional to utilizing the Lake Cleanup Boat, Pleasurecraft employees walked and cleaned up the shorelines of multiple islands with litter pickers. The islands on Lake Murray are popular destinations for campers throughout the summer and fall months and a prime location for waste accumulation. Most objects collected consisted of bottles, cans, chip bags, and more.
President of Pleasurecraft, Mark McKinney stated, “Lake Murray is truly a gem in South Carolina. As a popular destination that is a few miles from Pleasurecraft, many of our employees spend countless hours each year skiing, wakeboarding, surfing, fishing, and spending time with their families. It is critical to care for our local waterways and wildlife, and we were thrilled to be able to spend a Friday picking up trash and keeping Lake Murray beautiful.”
