ORLANDO, FL (July 26, 2017) – Team Nautique athlete Ryan Dodd broke the World Jump Record after launching an astonishing 254 feet behind the Ski Nautique 200. The world record was set on Ryan’s home lake in Palm Bay, Florida, on July 1st and has been officially approved by the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation. Ryan surpassed the previous record of 250 feet but has his goals set on going further.
“What does it feel like to go over 250 feet? What will I do next? What’s possible? These are a few of the questions I’ve been getting,” said Ryan Dodd, “My answer came to me right when I landed that jump, actually. I looked up and said to myself, ‘I can go 260 feet’. Within an hour I was right back in the gym and working on the new dream, the new vision of what is possible.”
Ryan’s dedication to jumping is the driving force behind his domination of the sport of waterski jumping as of late. The Ski Nautique 200 continues to be the leader in setting world records and personal bests in the three-event world, and it delivers Ryan with the unmatched performance he needs to jump further. This is the 25th world record set behind the Ski Nautique 200, a record that is unrivaled by any other inboard tournament waterski boat.
“Team Nautique athlete Ryan Dodd’s World Record setting waterski jump behind the Ski Nautique 200 continues to build on a legacy of performance unmatched by any other towboat,” said Nautique president Greg Meloon, “It’s exciting to watch an athlete like Ryan continue to push the boundaries of waterski jumping. Congratulations to Ryan for his record jump of 254 feet!”
